NEET 2017 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern will comprises of type of question, number of question, marking scheme, etc. The detailed NEET exam pattern is mentioned below:

  • Exam Mode: The examination will be conducted through offline mode (pen and paper based).
  • Number of Question: It will contain only one question paper which comprises of 180 questions.
  • Type of Question: Questions will be objective type. Each question will contain four optional answers; students are required to mark the correct answer only.
  • Exam Duration: The exam duration will be three hours.
  • Subjects: The question papers will be composed of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
  • Question Paper Language: The language of the question will be English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu.

NEET UG 2017

The NEET was conducted on 7 May, 2017. The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the Counseling Authorities and Admitting Institutions.

NEET Counselling Procedure

The counselling procedure will be organized in three rounds. The procedure of NEET online counselling is mentioned below:

Online Registration: To participate in NEET counselling, the candidate has to register themselves by filling their basic details. Without registration, candidates will not able to participate in the counselling procedure. After registration, candidates will get a unique USER ID & PASSWORD in registered email Id & mobile number. Candidates have to register with the given user id & password for further procedure.

Choice Filling & Locking: Now, candidates have to select the medical/dental colleges & courses as per their preference. After final selection, candidates have to click on “Save” button & lock their choices. It is necessary to lock the choices.

Result Declaration: Candidates will receive a SMS or email related to the allotted course & colleges after a few days of the counselling process. The seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank & opted choice of colleges.

Reporting to the Allotted College: After result announcement, candidates have to report in the allotted college and confirm their seat by paying the course fee. In case, the candidate failed to report in the allotted college at the given time frame the seats will be given to the next candidate.

What is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)?

For the current year, the All India Pre-Medical/PreDental Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE for 15% all India seats has been replaced by National Eligibility cum Entrance Test as per the directives of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India delivered in various decisions on NEET

NEET Admission

After getting seat, candidates have to report at the allotted college within a given time period. During admission, candidates have to bring their original documents for verification. In case, candidates fails to join at the allotted medical/dental college within a stipulated time, then candidates seat will be cancelled & candidates will not be eligible for further rounds of counselling.

Through NEET against which seats admissions will be made?

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST- 2017 is applicable for admissions to the following:-

i. All India Quota Seats.
ii. State Government Quota Seats where the State Government concerned so opts.
iii. Private/Management/NRI Quota Seats in all Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University.
